Innocent summer fun

Hi there,

It feels like it’s been a while, well I suppose it has been a while really, we’ve had a whole weekend in between the last time I posted.

Well on Saturday we went to the Innocent Village Fete which was fabulous. I was worried as the weather was awful at home, but it managed to hold out in London and it was mainly sunny. There were lots of cans of beer going round as well as smoothies and everyone seemed to have such a great time, the atmosphere was brilliant. The kids loved the duck herding and the welly wangng. They thought it was hilarious to see lots of adults getting competitive over throwing their wellies.

On Sunday I was utterly exhausted so I tried to have a lie in. Those with children already will know how hard this can be as they want breakfast, then they can’t find the TV remote so you have to help to find them. Anyway, I decided it wasn’t going to happen so got up and managed to dig out these great chalks I got yonks ago. They’re big chunky coloured chalks for drawing on the pavements or driveway. So I gave them the theme of the Zoo and left them scrawling all over the driveway. Fliss actually did a very good drawing of an elephant, the others had questionable drawings of various animals I couldn’t quite distinguish! They had good fun though, so that was the main thing!
