Well hello again, I’ve been trying to think what to do with four whiney children for the next few days. We’ve had the following suggestions; camping, dismissed because of the bad weather, Adventure Park, dismissed because of the bad weather and they can be expensive, picnic, again dismissed because of bad weather. So you can see a bit of a pattern arising here can’t you? The weather can be so restricting and the kids end up with so much pent up energy when they’re in the house for too long.
So I’ve tried to set them a few activities to keep them occupied. The first one I thought was brilliant and would keep them occupied while Michael got to work on his idea! We asked them to write a small play and make puppets and a mini theatre to perform their play. When we moved into out house 2 years ago, we kept all the boxes from the move, so we got a huge one down from the loft for them to use as their theatre, armed them with poster paints and some scraps of material and off they went. For the puppets, I nipped to our local Wilko to get some cheap wooden spoons and wool for the puppets and off they went making those too.
It was fab, it kept them occupied for pretty much the whole day, I even had to interrupt and call them for lunch whereas usually it’s the other way around. Then after super, Michael and I settle down to watch their performance of “The Naughty Children”. It was hilarious and I think loosely based on some of their naughty antics from the past!
I’ll keep you in suspense about Michaels plan for them until tomorrow! Bye for now!
