Well what a magical weekend we had! We only got back late last night and I think the kids (bless them) were pretty exhausted after all the excitement and of course the walks!
We set off Friday night and stopped over at my friends house which was lovely. As it was quite late by the time we arrived we were naughty and just had a take away but it was really delicious, they are lucky to have a very good authentic Indian restaurant. I had a prawn korma and it was one of the best take-outs I have ever had!
Then on Saturday morning we headed off to the peak district and started our day. We went to a little town called Matlock which the kids really enjoyed visiting as there were lots of lovely little shops which they enjoyed looking around. We had a fish and chip lunch before heading off on our trek. We must of walked about 10 miles and it was fantastic! The sun was setting by the time we got back and checked into our little B and B (which was lovely.
On the Sunday we went for another good long walk and went to literally one of the most fantastic country pubs ever! If you are ever in the area you MUST go! It is called “The Druid Inn” at Birchover
After the most amazing lunch, we went for some more walking and it has to be said it was just beautiful! Then of course we did have to come back! But what a weekend!
