Car boot fun!

In all my dizziness, I completely forgot to write about how the kids little car boot sale went. They did really well but it was a long old day, we had to be there for 8am for a 9:30am start. We displayed everything as nicely as possible and then waited for the punters to come flocking. But flock they did not!

It was a slow start to say the least, but after an hour, things really warmed up and at the end of the morning we had made £102.12! They thought this was fantastic but wanted to spend it all immediately at the various other car boot stands. I was a mean mother and refused, is that bad? We spent so much time clearing out the rooms and garage to get rid of things, I couldn’t bear to come home with more junk, I mean toys!

They did get an ice cream though for all their efforts so I wasn’t the mean mummy in the end-hurrah! It was a great day all in all and really good for getting everyone involved in a house de-clutter.

Lollies, bunting and other summery things!

Oh I just love this glorious sunshine we’ve had recently, it makes summer holidays so much easier being able to pop the kids in the garden with a football, the pet dog and sun hats while get onto some much needed housework!

Well I say housework, what I actually mean is that I got carried away making ice lollies for everyone for when they tire of the garden.

We’re also planning to go to a car boot sale this weekend to have a spring clean of all the kid’s old toys, clothes and whatever other odds and ends we can find. They are so excited and have been making cute bunting to go around the trestle table to make our stand the most appealing. I have a feeling that my flying comment that all proceeds can go towards a cinema trip has helped their enthusiasm some what! They’re just dying to see WALL-E still, so this would be the perfect reward for their hard work in helping me.
